The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade organized a Dialogue Workshop titled ’Mapping Migration Challenges in the EU Transit and Destination Countries’ on 26th October, 2016. The Workshop took place within the framework of the project called ’Support to dialogues, political and economic research and studies of the Euro-Mediterranean-partnership’ financed by the European Union (under the EuropeAid/135-333/c/ACT/MULTI proposal). The project is led by the Spanish IEMed (European Institute of the Mediterranean), and IFAT is responsible for the implementation of the ’Work Package on Mapping Migration Challenges in the EU Transit and Destination Countries’.

This Work Package aims to provide a Joint Policy Study consisting of six studies on the situation of the transit and the destination countries of migration, from the perspective of Sweden, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and the relevant European Union’s policies.

The Workshop’s objective was to provide a forum for the invited international and local experts on migration to share their thoughts and to help the authors in improving the quality of their papers. Authors will integrate the critical comments and suggestions into their papers, which will be published in January 2017. Furthermore, the Joint Policy Study will be launched in Budapest next spring.
